Finding Peace in Nature

For us a healthy balance between work time and rest time is vital to our wellbeing. As we've said before, much of our lifestyle requires labour intensive practices, but because we do it of our own choosing and to benefit our lifestyle we don't see it as 'work' in a traditional sense. Certainly in terms of comparing it to the average 9-5. However, just because we enjoy our labours we still have time away from them in true leisure time. It's not as frequent as every weekend, but perhaps once or twice a month we have a day away somewhere, doing something different. We just like to be away from hustle and bustle of the modern world. It's noise, dust and constant movement doesn't appeal to us.

We find peace in big skies and the sounds of bees.

In bird song on a warm breeze.

An afternoon picnicking by a lake or walking through the English countryside is enough to recharge our batteries. We return home to an evening spent watering our garden after the heat of the day, while being serenaded by a song thrush....

When we're out in nature we try to enjoy the simple pleasures of our surroundings.

Walking along paths scattered with nature's confetti....

Footpaths scattered with nature's confetti....

Witnessing a mother's love, whatever the species....

A coot family...

A quite spot, loud with life...

The truly astonishing variety of colour and design to be found in nature....

Damselfly resting on a leaf.

We hope you've enjoyed seeing our pictures and sharing our day out. If you'd like to find out more about our lifestyle, please join our facebook page The Folklore1685 Project. Thank you!
